A Unique Estate in the Outer Hebrides

In one of Europe’s last great wildernesses, guests at Borve Lodge Estate can take in Scotland’s most spectacular shoreline in all its natural splendour. There are miles of crystal clear ocean, a plethora of animals, fishing spots, and hiking trails on Harris. You may even take a trip to Taransay, a beautiful island owned by Borve Lodge Estate.

Our award-winning self catering properties combine the raw natural beauty of the Isle of Harris with unique modern elegance.

This is the ideal location for a romantic and sumptuous holiday, with views of Taransay, hills in the north of the island, and an archipelago of islands in the Sound of Harris. Take in the breathtaking panoramic vistas of the Atlantic Ocean slamming upon some of the region’s numerous gorgeous beaches such as Luskentyre, Seilebost, and Horgabost.

Our five-star luxury accommodation (The Broch and The Rock House) provides remote and quiet accommodation that is completely private.  Set in the picturesque secluded village of Borve on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides, providing the ultimate Hebridean escape.

Borve Lodge Estate, which offers exquisite self-catering cottages on the lovely Isle of Harris, will greet you with a warm welcome.

Do you recognise this trophy 🏆? The amazing Tony Scherr, known to everyone on Harris for his vast historical knowledge of the island, came across this old copy of De Tha Dol in his archives, which got us wondering.... Where is this trophy now ? If anyone has been thinking about a clear out in their attic and thinks the Dr Horrobin Trophy might be lurking there, among the old photographs and other notable trophies for the egg and spoon race, long-jump and junior football, please let us know. There might be a bit of Taransay venison in it for you 😊A historic note: Dr. David Horrobin purchased Borve Lodge in 1985 and was very committed to the island and its people before his untimely death in 2003; he is buried at Borve cemetery. ...
